Seattle, WA – The Seattle Symphony is delighted to announce Barbie The Movie: In Concert with the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall on June 27 & 28. The record-shattering, full-length feature film inspired by Mattel Inc.’s Barbie brand will be accompanied by the Symphony performing both the score and the beloved pop songs from the iconic soundtrack. Conducted by Sarah Hicks, Barbie The Movie: In Concert was developed by Macy Schmidt for Overture Global Entertainment.
Ticket prices start at $54, and go on sale to the general public starting 10am on Friday, March 7, at seattlesymphony.org.

Barbie received more than 450 industry nominations and 120 wins, including eight Academy Award® nominations and the Oscar for Best Original Song. Music from Barbie was nominated for 11 GRAMMY® Awards, with three wins secured in key categories, including Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media (Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell, “What Was I Made For?”), and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

SARAH HICKS | CONDUCTOR
Sarah Hicks' versatile and vibrant musicianship has secured her place as an in-demand conductor across an array of genres, and as an educator, arranger, producer, writer and speaker committed to creating connections through music. Her career has seen collaborations with artists ranging from Hilary Hahn and Dmitiri Hvorostovsky to Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson. Her passion for cross-genre partnerships led to a 2019 album with rap artist Dessa and the Minnesota Orchestra, with whom she holds a titled position, and she has been nominated for two Upper Midwest Emmys. A specialist in film music and the film in concert genre, she creates concert experiences that combine sight and sound, and her premieres include Pixar in Concert and Disney-Pixar’s Coco; she can also be seen in A Celebration of the Music from Coco on Disney+. A highly sought-after guest conductor, Hicks has worked with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Pops, Toronto Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Tokyo Philharmonic, among others.
