LIVE @ BENAROYA HALL PERFORMANCES RECEIVE NEW SERIES TITLE OF BENAROYA HALL PRESENTS
Seattle, WA — This season, Benaroya Hall celebrates its 25th anniversary, welcoming audiences to its world-class performing arts venue for a variety of concerts, speakers and performers. In addition to being the home of the Seattle Symphony, Benaroya Hall attracts a broad range of performers and groups to its stages, largely due to its stunning acoustics and versatile performance spaces. In 2012, the Symphony and Benaroya Hall launched Live @ Benaroya Hall, a non-orchestral series intended to increase the variety of events held at the hall, spanning from lectures, jazz, rock, blues, country, pop, alternative and world music performances. The 2023/2024 season features even more cutting-edge headliners, including Common, Gaby Moreno, Clannad, Patricia Ward Kelly and DRUM TAO, all umbrellaed under the new series title Benaroya Hall Presents.
On September 18, hip-hop legend, Academy Award, Emmy, and Grammy-winning artist, actor, author, and activist Common makes his Benaroya Hall debut with Common Live, bringing his blend of music and activism in a concert dedicated to his recent release, A Beautiful Revolution (Pt 2). Next, on October 6, Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno, who has shared the international stage with music luminaries such as Bono and Andrea Boccelli, performs songs from her latest Grammy-nominated studio album, Alegoría.
On October 9, Irish sensation Clannad stops in Seattle while celebrating their final world tour,
Clannad — In a Lifetime: The Farewell Tour, after a remarkable 50 years of performing. Clannad has sold more than 15 million records worldwide and has done more than any other group to bring Irish music and culture to a worldwide audience. Fusing elements of Irish folk music with rock, pop, New Age and jazz, the band has created a beautifully unique and ethereal sound. Then, on November 18, is rain: An Evening with Robin Layton, featuring Pulitzer Prize-nominated photojournalist and Nikon Ambassador Robin Layton presenting her new book, rain. Layton’s limited edition coffee table book features 100+ evocative photographs that explore rain in all its vastness and intimacy. For this event, she is teaming up with Todd Boston and local violist Justin Hagood, who will be playing live in front of her videos of rain.
On December 14, back for the second season in a row, is Patricia Ward Kelly, performing a special one-woman-show holiday performance, Gene Kelly: The Legacy — An Evening with Patricia Ward Kelly, with film and props based on the legacy of Gene Kelly, her late husband for whom she also served as a biographer. Benaroya Hall Presents continues in the spring, with DRUM TAO debuting at the hall on April 22 for its world tour, Drum Tao 30th Anniversary The Tao 夢幻響. The show includes thrilling Japanese drum and dance ensembles that have been entertaining audiences around the world since 1993. Benaroya Hall Presents shows are on sale now and expected to sell out fast.
Benaroya Hall also welcomes an exciting line-up of new rental clients performing throughout the 2023/2024 season on various Benaroya Hall stages. On October 10, TwoStep Violin LLC presents TwoSet Violin World Tour 2023, featuring the hilarious duo that captured the hearts of fans worldwide with their unique blend of musical virtuosity and witty humor. On October 13, Para Share Entertainments presents Vasantotsav, starring famous vocalists Rahul Deshpande and Priyanka Barve, who make their Benaroya Hall debut with Vasantotsav - Seattle, a concert paying tribute to musical legend Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande. Rainbow City Performing Arts presents three concerts during the season featuring music inspired by the spectrum of human identity: Spectrum of Color (November 17), Spectrum of Identity (February 2) and Spectrum of Culture (April 12).
