Seattle, WA — Since the 2026/2027 season was announced this past February, the Seattle Symphony has added 10 additional programs to its lineup — including Undertale: Determination Symphony with the Seattle Symphony (September 29 & October 6), Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra with the Seattle Symphony (October 11), The 8-Bit Big Band with the Seattle Symphony (October 16), The Ring in Concert with the Seattle Symphony (October 29 & 30), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves in Concert with the Seattle Symphony (March 6), Ocean in Concert with the Seattle Symphony (April 23) and Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert with the Seattle Symphony (July 9–11). Performances presented by the Seattle Symphony but performed without the orchestra include Powaqqatsi: Live with The Philip Glass Ensemble (November 6), The Simon & Garfunkel Story (February 26) and The Wailin’ Jennys (May 9).
The upcoming season blends core repertoire and contemporary compositions, superstar soloists and emerging talent. Xian Zhang will conduct 13 programs featuring canonical works by Prokofiev, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Brahms and Liszt, contemporary compositions by Joe Pereira, Steven Banks, Steven Mackey and Gabriela Montero, and collaborations with Yuja Wang, James Ehnes, Emanuel Ax, Gil Shaham and others. Later in the season, a three-week festival celebrating nature will feature monumental works — Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, Webern’s Im Sommerwind (In the Summer Wind), Scriabin’s Poem of Ecstasy, Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, Gabriela Montero’s Piano Concerto No.1, “Latin” and Respighi’s Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome.
Audiences can also experience recitals from Itzhak Perlman, Hayato Sumino “Cateen”, Paul Lewis, Víkingur Ólafsson, Yeol Eum Son and collaborating duo Alisa Weilerstein and Inon Barnatan. Adding to the excitement, several Seattle Symphony musicians will take the spotlight: Concertmaster Noah Geller, Associate Concertmaster Helen Kim, First Violin Emerson Millar, Assistant Principal Bass Will Langlie Miletich and Principal Timpani Eric Schweikert.

Experience The Ring in a live concert presentation as the Seattle Symphony performs Hans Zimmer’s haunting score alongside the film. An iconic modern-day horror film partially shot in Seattle, the tale begins when the bizarre death of a teenage girl leads journalist Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) to investigate a mysterious urban legend about a videocassette that causes anyone who views it to die a week later. She discovers the videocassette containing disturbing imagery in a remote mountain cabin, and after watching it, receives a chilling phone call from an unknown voice warning “Seven days.”

The Philip Glass Ensemble
Powaqqatsi (1988) is a documentary without dialogue, focused on the conflict in Third World countries between traditional ways of life and the introduction of industrialization. Director Godfrey Reggio and composer Philip Glass transcended language barriers through the universally accessible mediums of video and music, inviting each viewer to interpret the film as they choose.
This performance is presented by the Seattle Symphony. The orchestra will not perform.
THE SIMON & GARFUNKEL STORY

The Simon & Garfunkel Story chronicles the amazing journey shared by the folk-rock duo, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. It tells the story from their humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry to their incredible success as one of the best- selling music groups of the ‘60s to their dramatic split in 1970. It culminates with “The Concert in Central Park,” their infamous reunion in 1981 with more than half a million fans in attendance.
Using state-of-the-art video projection, photos and original film footage, the show also features a full live band performing all of the duo’s hits, including “Mrs. Robinson” (featured in 1967 film The Graduate), “Cecilia,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound” and many more.
All performers for The Simon & Garfunkel Story will be announced at a later date.
