NOTICE OF ARTIST CHANGE: NATASHA PAREMSKI TO STEP IN FOR RÉMI GENIET IN SEATTLE SYMPHONY’S APRIL 29 PERFORMANCE

CONCERT PROGRAM CELEBRATES 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF RACHMANINOV’S BIRTH

PAREMSKI TO PERFORM RACHMANINOV’S PIANO CONCERTO NO. 3 WITH GUEST CONDUCTOR KATHARINA WINCOR

Seattle, WA – Pianist Natasha Paremski will step in to perform in the Rachmaninov Piano Concertos Nos. 3 & 4 program on Saturday, April 29, at 8 p.m. Regretfully, Rémi Geniet is unable to travel to Seattle this month due to delays with artist visa processing. This change does not affect the scheduled program, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of Sergey Rachmaninov’s birth and features the composer’s Third and Fourth piano concertos.

Over two nights, conductor Katharina Wincor leads the Symphony in performances of Rachmaninov’s full cycle of four piano concertos at Benaroya Hall, with pianist Natasha Paremski performing the Third Piano Concerto on April 29. Rachmaninov, who had a 14-note finger span, created some of the most challenging works in the piano repertoire, with four tour-de-force concertos that require immense technique to perform. His Third Piano Concerto solidified his reputation as a significant composer and is a repertoire staple for classical piano, renowned for its technical difficulty. The Symphony is thrilled to be joined by virtuoso pianist Paremski to perform the work for Seattle audiences at Benaroya Hall.
