SEATTLE SYMPHONY LIVE NOW STREAMING THE MAYORS' CONCERT FOR UKRAINE AND REFUGEES WORLDWIDE

FREE STREAMING OF THE CONCERT IS AVAILABLE UNTIL APRIL 30

DONATIONS TO THE SEATTLE REFUGEE FUND PROVIDE URGENTLY NEEDED SUPPORT TO REFUGEES

Seattle, WA – On April 4, 2022, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, King County Executive Dow Constantine and 36 mayors from across King County hosted the Mayors’ Concert for Ukraine and Refugees Worldwide at Benaroya Hall, raising money to help Ukrainian refugees in Europe as well as Ukrainian and other refugees in King County.

The Symphony is excited to announce that the Mayors’ Concert for Ukraine and Refugees Worldwide is now available to stream on Seattle Symphony Live, the Symphony’s streaming platform, and will remain online for anyone to view for free until April 30. The highly attended benefit concert for Ukraine joins other Seattle Symphony Live programming, which features streamed concerts considered season highlights, including premieres and commissions, Family Concerts, Tiny Clips, and special performances. Through its streaming platform, the Symphony aims to broaden the scope of streamed performances, increasing access to powerful symphonic music for a global audience.

The Mayors’ Concert for Ukraine and Refugees Worldwide features the Seattle Symphony conducted by Ludovic Morlot, who serves as the orchestra’s Judith Fong Conductor Emeritus, and regional Ukrainian performers including the Slavic United Choir and Barvinok Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, all of whom graciously donated their time and talents for the concert. Streaming the concert on Seattle Symphony Live is free, but donations to The Seattle Refugee Fund are strongly encouraged. The Seattle Refugee Fund directs resources to relief efforts for the people of Ukraine and other refugees around the world. After administrative and out-of-pocket expenses, all donations to the Seattle Refugee Fund will be used as follows: 70% will help Ukrainians in Europe and Seattle-King County through the International Rescue Committee and the Ukrainian Community Center of Washington; 30% will provide services to other refugees in Seattle-King County. The Seattle Foundation is serving as the Seattle Refugee Fund’s fiscal partner.
