CELEBRATE ASIA CONCERT DEDICATED TO VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE AND HATE CRIMES

This week’s performance is dedicated to those who have lost their lives and all victims of violence rooted in bigotry and hatred.

In recognition of tragic deaths and attacks brought on by bigotry and racism, the Seattle Symphony dedicates this week’s concert to victims of violence and hate crimes, particularly those who were murdered last night in Atlanta and the elderly Asians who were brutally assaulted in the Bay Area this year.

“The recent rise in xenophobic attacks on the Asian American and Pacific Islander community is unacceptable and heartbreaking, particularly during a year that has already been so challenging,” shares Krishna Thiagarajan, Seattle Symphony President & CEO. “Music can offer healing where words fail and we dedicate this concert to you. To all those affected by this senseless violence — you are not alone, we stand with you.”

We mourn the losses of Daoyou Feng, Pak Ho, Paul Andre Michels, Vicha Ratanapakdee, Xiaojie Yan, Delaina Ashley Yaun and countless others.

The March 18, 2021 Celebrate Asia concert is dedicated in memory of these victims.
